Asterisk telephone system

Asterisk is an open-source telephone system with extensive features. Save yourself from expensive landline connections and leverage the diverse possibilities of Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony. A small server with the Linux operating system is sufficient to provide your company with a powerful telephone system. Communication can be realized either through VoIP-capable phones or through so-called softphones installed on your employees' PCs.

Upon request, we provide you with your own Asterisk server and configure it completely for you.

Due to continuous maintenance and adaptation to current standards, Asterisk is well-prepared for the future. Asterisk supports a variety of protocols such as SIP and IAX2, offering a high level of flexibility regarding the use of telephone hardware. The number of end devices is nearly unlimited.

Cost-effective:
Costs are always a crucial aspect for companies in telephony. In essence, all in-house calls are free of charge. Even if you have multiple company locations, they can be connected via your internet connection, eliminating costs for calls between locations. External calls can also be forwarded at no cost to a phone located at a different company site.

Intelligent:
Another advantage is the flexibility in selecting providers. Multiple providers can be set up, and through intelligent routing, additional costs can be saved. This can be illustrated with an example: Let's say Provider A offers particularly favorable rates for calls to the German landline. However, when it comes to mobile networks, Provider B is significantly cheaper. Asterisk can be configured to automatically route calls to the German landline through Provider A and mobile calls through Provider B. This construct can be further expanded, for example, for international calls.

High Availability:
To ensure high reliability of the telephone system, there is an optional option to secure the system redundantly. Asterisk is additionally installed on a second computer for this purpose. If the primary computer fails, e.g., due to a hardware defect, the other one automatically takes over and continues operations.

Management:
Several web-based interfaces are available for Asterisk, with one of the most well-known being FreePBX. Through this interface, not only can all settings be configured, but new modules can also be installed and updated, actions can be executed, or incoming and outgoing calls can be viewed through the "User Control Panel."
