Cluster

Cluster systems are usable in various ways. According to your requirements, we offer you the following solutions:High-availability clusters:

High-availability clusters:

High-availability clusters (HA-cluster) are used to assure a high system stability. Should an error occur in a node, the service operating on that node can be migrated to another node. We pay attention to preventing Single-Point-of-Failures (components that would disable the whole system as a consequence of such error). If high-availability is of extreme importance for you, you should decide for the cluster type.

Examples for application areas of HA-systems are:

  • Web server or web applications
  • Databases
  • Firewalls, VPN systems, mail systems

Load-Balancing-Cluster:

This cluster type serves the purposes of balancing the load of the traffic to several servers. The requirement is not achieved by upgrading individual computers but by adding additional server machines. The actual load balancing is being controlled by a redundant central instance. Through the load balancer the degree of capacity utilization of the individual servers can be determined and client requests can be allocated to the nodes with the best projected performance. With this method one can assure that clients will be provided with the best possible capacity.

High Performance Computing Cluster:

High Performance Computing Cluster (HPC-cluster) are designed to process calculations as fast as possible by distributing them to several nodes handled by a job managemt system. The performance capability of current PC-systems is oftentimes insufficient to process complex calculations and applications in a desired time. Contrary to an extremely expensive mainframe computer solution, the interconnection of several servers represents an affordable alternative.
